Reviews of the Dacoits album....

The Dacoits are understandably one of our absolute favourite bands. The debut album is a complete triumph, dark and gritty, with enough room for some tranquility and inspiration. The production is luscious, clearly The Dacoits have invested a lot of love here.  Seeing them live is a joy.  This band are all powerful, and we love them.

BBC INTRODUCING

Fusing the lyrical translucence of PJ Harvey, with the musical intensity of Garbage, we’d go as far, as to suggest The Dacoits debut album deserves a whole genre of its own entitled ‘Poetical Garage’... It’s been a long time in the making, but with 11 tracks of faultless bliss, we can safely say, it was well worth the wait.

OXFORDSHIRE MUSIC SCENE

"Polly Jean is a regular reference point throughout the album, singer Carrie Rossiter possessed of a similarly gravelly, searching vocal style and lyrical disposition on the best songs here.  Where The Dacoits are strongest is in these darker moods when Carrie’s full of a starchy, witchy angst and the band are grinding out a gothic form of garage-pop.”  NIGHTSHIFT MAGAZINE

We can safely say this is the strongest album of the year, more than living up to the bands world class live shows. We look forward to whatever The Dacoits choose to do next.”

RAGDOLL MAGAZINE

The Dacoits have released their first studio album to much critical acclaim…..they inhibit a darker and somewhat mysterious world… their music is original, atmospheric, carefully constructed and well produced….”  CITIZEN CANE
